Origin: 
Descended from the first introduction of zebu into Africa from west Asia. The breed evolved after some of the Ethiopia Boran pastoralists migrated across the border to Kenya and settled in the area of south and west of the Tana River district of the North-Eastern province of Kenya. They are now known as the Orma tribe.
